Biography

Ayodele Olarewaju is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. A native of Ondo State, Olarewaju’s teaching and research focus on agricultural production economics, farm management, and the economics of sustainable intensification in smallholder systems. His recent work examines technology adoption, risk and uncertainty in farm decision-making, and market access constraints shaping productivity and livelihoods in Southwest Nigeria.

Olarewaju teaches courses in microeconomic theory for agriculture, farm management, econometrics, and agricultural policy analysis, emphasizing applied methods, data-driven problem solving, and experiential learning with local farming communities. His scholarship integrates household survey design, impact evaluation, and cost–benefit analysis to generate evidence for policy and extension programs that improve input use efficiency, resilience, and profitability.

He collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on projects related to climate-smart agriculture, value chain development, and digital advisory services for smallholders. Olarewaju mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervises field research, and contributes to departmental curriculum development and outreach. He is committed to bridging research and practice by engaging stakeholders across government, industry, and farmer organizations to co-produce actionable insights that advance food security, rural incomes, and sustainable agricultural transformation in Nigeria.
