Biography

Debo-Ajagunna is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology at Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Microbiology. Her academic and research career is driven by a passion for addressing public health challenges through microbiological research and the development of sustainable, nature-based solutions.

Her Master's research investigated the antimicrobial potential of medicinal plant extracts against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolated from wound infections, integrating laboratory investigations with computational approaches to evaluate the therapeutic potential of plant-derived bioactive compounds. She has experience in microbiology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, molecular docking, phytochemical studies, and microbiological laboratory techniques.

As an early-career academic, Precious is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and mentorship. She is passionate about advancing scientific knowledge through collaborative research, contributing to evidence-based healthcare solutions, and training the next generation of microbiologists to develop critical thinking and research skills. Her long-term research goal is to contribute to the discovery and development of safe, effective, and affordable antimicrobial therapies for combating infectious diseases and improving public health.
