Biography

Dr. Engr. Abdullahi Olawale ADEBAYO is an Associate Professor of Production/Mechanical Metallurgy. His research interests are in the diverse areas of products development; new materials development and characterizations; foundry and physical metallurgy; heat treatment of ferrous and non-ferrous metals for automobile applications as well as composite materials for various engineering applications.
He was born on 2nd August, 1972. He attended St Andrew’s Anglican Primary School Ado-Ekiti, Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ado-Ekiti, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and Federal University of Technology, Akure for his educational trainings to obtain primary, secondary, Natonal Diploma, B.Eng., M. Eng. and PhD certificates.
He had his youth service (NYSC) programme in Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited, Ajaokuta, Kogi State and was thereafter retained in the service of the company as a young Engineer and rose to the post of Production Engineer. He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Nigerian Metallurgical Society (NMS) as well as being a COREN registered engineer. He worked briefly as Teaching Assistant in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, FUTA and as Lecturer III in the Department of Glass and Ceramic Technology of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti before joining the service of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE). He has over 60 publications in reputable local and international journals and attended many conferences and workshops within and outside Nigeria. He has served and still serves as a reviewer to many local and international reputable journals. He has served and still serving in various capacities within the university community among which are: Former Ag. HOD, University Top Up Programme Coordinator (MME) and Students Advisory Committee. He is presently the National President of the Old Students’ Association of his former school. He is happily married with children.
