Biography

Dr. Ndubuisi Friday Ugwu is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Health Education, Faculty of Education, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He holds a Diploma in Health and Physical Education and a B.Sc. in Health Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees in Public Health Education. His research specializes in health education and educational intervention programmes, behaviour change, reproductive and sexual health education, systematic reviews, and the ethical application of artificial intelligence in education and research. He has published extensively in reputable journals, with his work on the ethical dilemmas of artificial intelligence in research writing recognized among the most-read publications in Higher Learning Research Communications. As the pioneer Head of the Department of Health Education at FUOYE, he played a leading role in establishing the department and securing successful programme accreditation. He has served in several academic leadership positions, including Examination Officer, Project Coordinator, Student Adviser, and Chairman of the Departmental Disciplinary Committee. A dedicated teacher and researcher, he has taught numerous undergraduate courses in health education and currently conducts intervention-based research aimed at promoting evidence-based health practices and fostering responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence among university students.

Research Interests

Health education intervention research, public health education, behaviour change communication, reproductive and sexual health promotion, educational programme evaluation, artificial intelligence in education and research, research ethics, systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, digital health education, health promotion, and implementation research for improving educational and public health outcomes.
