Biography

Ijeoma Ann Ngwaba (nee Ibeku) is a graduate of English and Literary Studies from Abia State University with a second class upper division (2.1). She also graduated from University of Port Harcourt with an M.A (Hons) in Arts (Ph.D grade); and has completed her Doctoral program at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2021. Her works are extensively published in journals and others have been cited in reputable journals, theses and books. My research interests are in African and African-American literature, Migration literature, literary theory and criticism, Film and Media studies, Oral literature, gender-related discourses and comparative literary studies. She lectures at Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria as a Senior lecturer. She has won the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) conference sponsorship for International conferences severally and attended conferences in United States of America and Canada in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024. As a result of her outstanding conference paper, she won the North East Modern Language Association Post-colonial Essay Award in 2020. She has also attended numerous conferences locally and presented papers. In 2022/2023, I was a Guest Lecturer at Penn State University, Berks where I taught courses focusing on the theme of “Literature and Culture, International Film and Literature and The Hero in World Literature” to students offering courses in African history, culture and literature at the University.
