Prof. Adebola Adewunmi Aderibigbe is a distinguished academic, communication scholar, and strategic communication expert with over eighteen years of multidisciplinary experience in Mass Communication, Strategic Communication, Development Communication, media studies, and emerging technology discourse. He is currently a Professor at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria, with academic qualifications in Communication and Media Studies from Bowen University, the University of Lagos, and Babcock University.
His academic career reflects consistent growth from Assistant Lecturer to Full Professor, with significant teaching, research, supervisory, and administrative contributions at Bowen University and FUOYE. He has taught more than thirty university-level courses, developed innovative modules such as Principles of Excellent Living and Public Speaking Essentials, and currently supervises postgraduate students at MSc and PhD levels.
Prof. Aderibigbe is an award-winning scholar with several national and institutional honours, including the Presidential Award, Peter Okebukola Distinction Prizes, institutional awards, and university commendations. His professional affiliations include Fellowships of the Institute of Security of Nigeria and the Institute of Corporate Administration, as well as charter membership of the Nigeria Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners.
He is a prolific researcher with publications in reputable journals, including Frontiers in Psychology, Communication and the Public, and the Journal of African Union Studies. His research interests cover artificial intelligence in education, political communication, media literacy, health communication, and development communication. He has secured and executed grants from the Ford Foundation and Bowen University and contributed to curriculum and policy development.
Beyond academia, he has held senior leadership roles, served as external examiner to several universities within and outside Nigeria, participated in accreditation and resource verification exercises, and contributed to international editorial and advisory boards. He also consults for media and development organisations, including IPC, CEMESO, and EU-SDGN II-supported democratic governance initiatives.
