Biography

Associate Professor Oluyinka Benedicta Adewoyin is a distinguished scholar, accomplished researcher, and passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture with over three decades of experience in horticultural science, postharvest technology, and ecological organic agriculture. A product of the prestigious University of Ibadan, where she earned her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Agronomy and Horticulture, she has built a remarkable career that seamlessly bridges academic excellence and real-world impact.
Her scholarly contributions span more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 authoritative book chapters, and numerous conference proceedings presented on national and international platforms. Recognized globally for her pioneering work, she received the Best Poster Award at the 19th IFOAM Organic World Conference in India (2017), a testament to the quality and relevance of her research. She holds a Fellowship of the Institute of Policy Management Development (2018) — one of the most distinguished honours conferred on professionals in policy and development. She is widely celebrated as a trailblazer in ecological organic agriculture in Nigeria. As a Pillar Implementer for the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) Initiative, a Master Trainer in cashew production, and a community-oriented educator, she has directly empowered over 1,000 farmers across multiple Nigerian states. Her work continues to shape food systems, climate-smart agricultural policy, and postharvest quality management across sub-Saharan Africa
