Biography
I am a Macroeconomist and Financial Econometrician with research expertise in digital finance, financial stability, macroeconomic policy, financial resilience, and sustainable development. I currently serve as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Taxation, College of Accounting Science, at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Prior to joining UNISA, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Johannesburg and served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria.
I hold a Doctorate degree in Economics from the University of Zululand, South Africa, where my doctoral research examined financial technology diffusion, financial deepening, and macroeconomic stability across African economies. My research employs advanced econometric and statistical techniques, including dynamic panel data models, structural vector autoregression (SVAR), generalized method of moments (GMM), threshold regression, and nonlinear modelling to address complex macroeconomic and financial policy issues.
My scholarly work spans digital finance, financial inclusion, monetary policy, institutional quality, financial literacy, banking stability, climate change, and economic sustainability. I have published extensively in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, and my research has contributed to advancing knowledge on the role of digital innovation and institutional development in promoting resilient and sustainable economies.
Beyond research, I have over twelve years of university teaching, postgraduate supervision, and research mentoring experience. I have supervised master's and doctoral students, facilitated advanced econometric training workshops, and collaborated with scholars across disciplines and institutions. Proficient in Stata, R, MATLAB, EViews, and SPSS-AMOS, I am passionate about applying rigorous empirical methods to generate policy-relevant insights that support economic resilience, financial inclusion, and sustainable development in emerging and developing economies.
