Biography

Dr. AWONEGAN Folayira Ireola (Nee Akindutire) was born on 15 June 1984 in Ondo, Ondo State, Nigeria. She hails from Ondo West Local Government Area in the Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State.

Dr. Awonegan commenced her higher education at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, where she studied Accounting Education and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed.) in 2008. She furthered her education at the University of Benin, Benin City, where she earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Management in 2014. Driven by a passion for educational leadership and research, she subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Management in 2025.

In addition to her academic qualifications, she obtained a Diploma in Computer Studies from St. Stephen's Cathedral Church Ventures, Ondo, in 2008, further enhancing her information technology skills.

Dr. Awonegan joined the services of the University on 25 March 2021 as an Assistant Lecturer. Through dedication, professionalism, and commitment to teaching, research, and community service, her appointment was confirmed on 25 March 2023. Since joining the University, she has continued to contribute to academic excellence through her commitment to scholarship, quality teaching, and the advancement of educational management.

Dr. AWONEGAN Folayira Ireola is committed to lifelong learning, academic development, and the promotion of excellence in higher education. She remains dedicated to mentoring students, conducting impactful research, and contributing meaningfully to institutional growth and national educational development.

She is a Nigerian, married to Mr. Awonegan Ayodeji Paul, and they are blessed with three children aged 12, 9, and 5 years.
