Biography

Mrs. Deborah Ogunkeyi is a Lecturer in Library and Information Science whose scholarship is centered on Information Retrieval and Digital Library Systems, with a particular focus on the application of artificial intelligence to information organization, access, and retrieval. Her first degree was in English and literary studies. She owns a masters in library and library and information science and currently pursuing her Ph.D. in library and information science. Her research explores how emerging technologies can enhance the discoverability, accessibility, and effective use of scholarly information in academic and research environments.
Her academic work reflects a coherent progression from investigating integrated library systems and digital repositories as drivers of effective library service delivery to examining the roles of AI metadata, cross-lingual information retrieval, and user experience in improving information retrieval. This trajectory has shaped her broader research agenda, which seeks to advance intelligent information systems that support teaching, learning, and research through innovative and user-centered digital solutions.
Mrs. Ogunkeyi's research interests include artificial intelligence applications in libraries, metadata and knowledge organization, digital library systems, scholarly communication, and digital transformation in higher education. She has contributed to scholarly discourse through publications and remains committed to collaborative research that addresses contemporary challenges in Library and Information Science. Her work is guided by a vision of developing intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable information systems that strengthen research productivity, enhance scholarly communication, and improve access to knowledge in the digital age.
