Biography

Engr. Professor Babatope Albert Alabadan is a distinguished academic, engineer, and administrator whose career reflects excellence in scholarship, leadership, and professional service. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (1989), an M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan (1992), a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Minna (1997), and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan (2002).
He began his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in 1991 at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, rising to the rank of Professor in 2009 before joining the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) in 2014. At FUOYE, he has served in several strategic leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2015–2019), Chairman of the Committee of Deans and Directors (2017–2019), Director of the Equipment Maintenance Centre (2024–2025), and currently Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies. Under his leadership, FUOYE emerged as the national winner of the 2018 Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology (CODET) competition.
With over three decades of teaching, research, and community service, Professor Alabadan specializes in farm structures and environmental studies. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students and has published about 80 scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals. A registered COREN engineer, he is a Fellow and Life Member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers and also belongs to the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the National Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners, and the Association of Cyber Security Practitioners. He is a CEFE International trainer and the traditional Otun Bobagunwa of Epinmi-Akoko Land, reflecting his commitment to community development. He is married and blessed.
