Biography

Dr. Adijat Bolanle Adams is a reader in the Department of Guidance and counselling, Faculty of education, Federal University Oye Ekiti. She is the pioneer Coordinator of the Department of Guidance and Counselling (August 2020- August 2021) and (2nd October 2019- 2nd October 2020) respectively. She is a seasoned counsellor, the pioneer chairperson of Association Professional Counsellors, Ekiti State Chapter (2019-2021) and she is recognized for her contribution to Guidance and Counselling, Rehabilitation, Vocational and Career counselling. Dr. Adams once served as the Coordinator of Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education, FUOYE (1st May, 2019- 1st Oct, 2019). In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Adams has served in administrative and leadership capacities within FUOYE as chairperson and a member of various committees; Chairperson: Faculty of Education welfare committee (2021-2022), Chairperson: FUOYE Staff School Establishment committee (2023), Chairperson: Faculty Finance Committee (2016- 2019), Member: Faculty of Education disciplinary committee (2021-2022), Member: Faculty Publication committee (Business Editor) (2018-2020), Member; Faculty Staff Review Panel on Appraisal form (2019-2021), Member: Teaching Practice committee (2019-2021), Member: Faculty Accreditation committee (2019-2023), Member: General Studies Unit Management Board (Representative of the Faculty of Education, 2023), Deputy Director, Counselling and Human Development Unit, Federal University Oye Ekiti (2024-2026). Her academic and research work has focused on issues relating to her areas of specialization. Dr. Adams has publications in both international and national reputable journals. She has served as internal examiner at postgraduate level at various departments within Fuoye (2023 to date).
