Biography

Naziru Imam is an award-winning academic, analytical chemist, and innovator at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. Currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Physical Sciences, his career at FUOYE spans roles from Technologist and Graduate Assistant to full-time faculty member. He holds an MSc in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, funded by a prestigious PTDF In-country Scholarship, and graduated as the best student in Chemistry during his BSc Chemistry studies at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.

With a research focus on analytical chemistry, environmental toxicology, and pollution indices, he published widely in reputable journals. His expertise includes assessing toxic heavy metals in food, paint, and soil ecosystems, as well as monitoring water quality across Nigeria.

At FUOYE, Imam plays a vital role in institutional growth and student development. As a member of the University Committee on Innovation, he co-led the conceptualisation and launch of the FUOYE Innovation Hub, designed its baseline bootcamps, and managed institutional digital visibility. He actively drives the Faculty's seminar and conference initiatives, serving on the Local Organising Committee for successive flagship events, including the 8th and 9th International Science Conferences (2025–2026).

A dedicated educator, Imam teaches across a broad chemistry curriculum—ranging from analytical and colloid chemistry to electrochemistry—and provides rigorous mentorship to students as an academic Level Adviser. Driven by the digital transformation of higher education, he leverages advanced digital competencies and AI research tools to optimise academic operations and scientific output, blending cutting-edge research with impactful leadership.
