Biography

Professor Ogunjimi Sunday Idowu graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in 2011. He is currently the Head of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.
He has published numerous scientific papers in reputable international and local journals and has attended several conferences within and outside Nigeria, where he has delivered oral presentations. He has received research grants from MASHAV - Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, in collaboration with the Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (CINADCO), Israel, for international training on agricultural extension tools and methods. He has also received Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) grants to present academic papers outside Nigeria.
Professor Ogunjimi Sunday Idowu is a member of several national and international professional organizations, including the Canadian Sociological Association, the Rural Sociological Society of the USA, the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria, and the Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria.
His research interests include agricultural extension communication, rural sociology, sustainable livelihood, and disability studies. He has supervised both PhD and master's students. He is currently working on empowering physically challenged persons through agricultural production using adaptive technologies for food security and poverty eradication in Nigeria.
