Biography

Prof Kabir Adekunle DUROWADE was born in October, 1975 in Ilorin, Nigeria. He is a Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, College of Medicine of the Federal University Oye Ekiti. He is Medical Doctor and also a Consultant Epidemiologist and Community Physician with the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti. He is a Nigerian from Offa, Kwara State.
He had his primary education at the Okesuna LGEA School and secondary school education at Mount Carmel College, both in Ilorin, Nigeria. He then proceeded to the University of Ilorin for his first degree, B.Sc (Hons), in Microbiology where he came out with a Second Class honours upper division (2-1) in 1997. He, thereafter, obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB; BS) from the same institution in 2005. He holds Master degrees in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Ilorin as well as Business Administration (MBA) from Ilorin Business School, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He attended a short course in Health Economics under Prof Barbra McParke at the Queen Margret University, Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2013. He is a Fellow of both the West Africa College of Physicians (FWACP) in Community Health and National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPH) in Public Health and Community Medicine. He holds two doctoral degrees, a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (M.D) degree in Public Health and Community Medicine from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) in 2022. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Public Health (Epidemiology option) at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2023. He has vast experience and technical expertise in the field of Public Health
