Biography

Innocent Ariremako Afolabi(Ph.D) is a distinguished Nigerian scholar, linguist, researcher, and educator whose academic career has been dedicated to advancing the study of language, communication, and cultural preservation. He specializes in Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, and Language Studies, with extensive teaching, research, and administrative experience in higher education. He has served as the 2020-2023 Head of Department and currently serving as the 2025-2026 Head of the Department of Linguistics and Languages at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, where he has contributed significantly to curriculum development, academic leadership, and the mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students. His research interests span sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, semantics, stylistics, indigenous language preservation, communication studies, and literary criticism at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
