Biography

Dr. Oluwole Akanmu Odunola is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. An accomplished scholar with a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Ibadan, he has over a decade of experience in library automation, digital libraries, and integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and IoT into library services. His extensive research includes numerous publications indexed in reputable databases like SCOPUS and IBSS, focusing on library automation, information technology skills, and user behavior. He has supervised many postgraduate theses and actively participates in national and international professional associations. Dr. Odunola has also demonstrated strong leadership through departmental, faculty, and university committees, promoting innovative research and capacity building. His work continues to contribute significantly to advancing library practices, information access, and technology adoption in Nigeria and beyond.

Research Interests

Dr. Oluwole Akanmu Odunola's research interests encompass library automation and digital libraries, the application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things in library and information science, cataloguing and classification in the digital age, information technology skills development, user behavior and information access in academic environments, digital resource management, and the innovative integration of technology to improve library services and access to information.
