Biography
Dr. Oluwaseun Tosin Bamigboye is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Faculty of Agriculture, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. She obtained her Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, in 2014 and became the first female PhD graduate of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in 2021.
She joined the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension as an Adjunct Assistant Lecturer in April 2019 and became a tenured academic staff member in 2021. As an early-career researcher, she has published extensively in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals. Her research focuses on agricultural extension, sustainable food systems, climate adaptation, rural sociology and development, agricultural sustainability, food security, digital agriculture, and the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus. She is particularly interested in strengthening the knowledge, effectiveness, and capacity of agricultural stakeholders, including farmers, agro-dealers, extension agents, women, youth, and children, through evidence-based research and policy.
Dr. Bamigboye is actively involved in academic leadership and professional service. She serves as the Examination Officer for the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Chairman of the Faculty of Agriculture Online Profile Upgrade Committee, Member of the Directorate of Innovation and Digital Technology, FUOYE Innovation Hub, and Treasurer of the National Women Academics (NAWACS), FUOYE Chapter. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Canadian Sociological Association, the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), and the Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria.
She is passionate about generating practical research that promotes sustainable livelihoods, resilient food systems, and inclusive agricultural development across Africa. Outside academia, she enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures.
