Research Interests

My research is grounded in an institutional engagement perspective and broadly focuses on understanding the career development mechanisms that promote employee growth and organizational development. I am particularly interested in examining how established institutions including universities, government organizations, and private-sector organizations foster employee career advancement through empowerment, community engagement, supportive relationships, professional networks, and workplace practices that enable individuals to thrive within and across organizational settings.
In addition, I have a strong research interest in the role of leadership and professional socialization in shaping the career development of public servants and other professionals. My work seeks to generate evidence that informs policies and organizational practices aimed at enhancing employee well-being, career progression, and institutional effectiveness.
Methodologically, I employ a range of research approaches, with particular expertise in qualitative and mixed-methods designs. My methodological versatility has enabled me to supervise students and collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research extending beyond my core area of human resource development, including industrial relations and personnel management, social work, healthcare management, accounting, entrepreneurship, and youth and gender studies, and other related disciplines.
