Biography

Dr. Oluwafemi Abel Agbetuyi is an Animal Nutritionist, researcher, and lecturer in the Department of Animal Production and Health, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He is dedicated to advancing sustainable livestock production through innovative nutritional strategies, alternative feed resources, and evidence-based animal feeding practices.

Dr. Oluwafemi Abel Agbetuyi obtained his highest academic qualification from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State (2023), following his master degree at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (2017), and Bachelor of Agriculture at Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State (2014). He has earlier obtained Higher National Diploma as part of his academic qualifications from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State in 2007, reflecting a strong educational foundation in agriculture, management, and animal science.

His research drives include sustainable livestock nutrition, evaluation and utilization of agro-industrial by-products, non-conventional feed ingredients, phytogenic feed additives, nutritional modulation of gut health in monogastric animals, oxidative stress mitigation, mycotoxin detoxification, and the application of bioactive plant compounds to enhance animal health, productivity, and product quality. His work also explores climate-smart livestock production systems and sustainable feeding strategies that improve productivity while minimizing environmental impacts.

As a university lecturer, Dr. Oluwafemi Abel Agbetuyi teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in animal nutrition and livestock production, supervises students' research projects, and mentors young scientists. He is committed to equipping future animal scientists with the knowledge and practical skills required to address contemporary challenges in livestock agriculture.

Dr. Oluwafemi Abel Agbetuyi has authored and co-authored scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Driven by a passion for scientific excellence, innovation, and knowledge dissemination, Dr. Agbetuyi continues to pursue research that bridges science and practice, contributing to improved livestock productivity, food security, and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria and beyond.
