Biography
Dr. Koko Ottoh Arikpo is a Lecturer I in the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Basic Medical Science, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Anatomy from the University of Calabar (2014), and both Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Human Anatomy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2018 and 2022, respectively).
Dr. Koko is an anatomist and biomedical researcher with scholarly interests in Forensic Anthropology, Molecular Genetics, and Cell Biology. His research focuses on understanding human biological variation, anthropometric markers, genetic mechanisms, and their applications in health, forensic investigations, and biomedical sciences. He has authored and co-authored over eight publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and continues to contribute actively to scientific research and academic scholarship.
Before joining the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Dr. Koko served as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Anatomy at the College of Nursing Sciences, Calabar, Cross River State, from July 2023 to January 2026. During the same period, he also lectured at Topfaith University, Akwa Ibom State, where he contributed to teaching, research, and student mentorship.
A dedicated educator and academic administrator, Dr. Koko is committed to advancing anatomical sciences through quality teaching, innovative research, and professional service. He is a member of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria (ASN) and the Society of Experimental and Clinical Anatomists of Nigeria (SECAN).
Dr. Koko is a native of Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, and remains passionate about mentoring future scientists and promoting excellence in higher education and research.
Research Interests
Forensic Anthropology, Anthropometry, Human Variation, Molecular Genetics, Cell Biology, Sexual Dimorphism, Morphometric Analysis, Obesity and Adiposity Studies, Clinical Anatomy, and Population Health Research.
