Biography
Michael Thankgod Ugbede hails from okenya in Igalamela/Odulu L.G.A of Kogi State, Nigeria. Mr Ugbede was the Science/Lab prefect in his class of 2006 from Government Secondary School Steel City Ajaokuta, Kogi State.
He obtained a national Diploma (ND) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Idah in 2010 and Higher national Diploma (HND) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Idah in 2014.
He obtained a B.Sc. Degree from Salem University Lokoja (2021) and M.Sc. in Hydrogeology from the Federal University, Lokoja (FUL), 2026.
Research Interests
Mr Ugbede is curious about unraveling the mysteries behind groundwater flow and aquifer mechanics, contaminant transports, slope stability and landslides, foundation and dam engineering, tunneling and underground construction, geohazards, and sustainable water resources.
Mr. Ugbede is also at home with studies with pollution and site remedation, waste disposal, natural hazards assessment, land use and urban geology, climate change impacts and environmental impact assessment, environmental geochemistry, trace element and isotope geochemistry and water-rock interaction.
