Biography

Dr. Adeyemi Adewumi Adedeji is a Adjunct staff in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, an M.Tech. in Urban and Regional Planning, and a B.Tech. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He is a Registered Town Planner (RTP) with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP).
Dr. Adedeji has over a decade of professional and academic experience spanning urban and regional planning, environmental management, sustainable development, housing studies, and spatial planning. Prior to joining FUOYE, he served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Wesley University, Ondo, and worked with planning and environmental consultancy firms where he participated in environmental impact assessments, master plan preparation, layout design, land-use planning, and geospatial data analysis.
His research interests include sustainable urban development, housing and urban renewal, land use dynamics, environmental planning, tourism planning, and smart city development. He has published scholarly articles in reputable national and international journals covering topics such as informal settlements, urban poverty, infrastructure management, housing development, and planning legislation. He has also contributed to book chapters and presented research papers at several national and international conferences.
Dr. Adedeji has supervised undergraduate research projects and teaches courses in research methods, planning theory, urban economics, and planning seminars. His ongoing research focuses on developing innovative and evidence-based solutions to urban and environmental challenges in Nigeria through interdisciplinary approaches and stakeholder engagement. He is committed to advancing research, policy development, and professional practice that promote resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cities while contributing to national development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainable urban development, Housing and urban renewal, Land use dynamics, Environmental planning, Tourism planning, and Smart city development.
