Biography

Prof. Olugbenga O. AMU of the Department of Civil Engineering, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria, is an accomplished scholar. He completed his secondary school education at Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti, B.Sc. Civil Engineering, (OAU, Ile-Ife), M.Eng. (Federal University of Technology, Akure) and Ph.D. (OAU Ile-Ife, 2006). He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
He has over 32 years’ experience as a lecturer from a total of 35 years’ experience as a professional Civil Engineer. He started his lecturing career at the Department of Civil Engineering, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, (1994-2002), then proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, (2002-2012) from where he joined the services of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti; where he was appointed a Professor in 2012.
Prof. Olugbenga Amu has held many academic and administrative positions in the university. These include, Pioneer Head of Civil Engineering Department, Pioneer Acting Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Substantive Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Pioneer Member of the Governing Council. He was also Head of the Ikole Campus of the university and also Director and Chairman of many units and committees.
He has graduated many PhD and M.Eng candidates and published above 100 journals in many learned Civil Engineering journals with a research focus on road stabilization using alternative non-conventional materials. He is an external examiner and professorial assessor to many universities in Nigeria and Ghana and has also attended scientific conferences both in Nigeria and overseas. He is a reviewer to many learned scientific journals.
