Biography

Dr. Toyin Olanike Adaramoye is a lecturer in the Department of Guidance and Counselling at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. She holds a Ph.D. in counselling psychology (developmental psychology) from the University of Ibadan and has established herself as an emerging scholar in counselling psychology, educational psychology, and mental health research.

Her research addresses contemporary issues affecting adolescents, young adults, women, families, and educational communities, including mental health, positive psychology, resilience, parenting, intimate partner violence, sexual and reproductive health, psychological wellbeing, social support, academic adjustment, and counselling interventions. She has also contributed to research on digital wellbeing, artificial intelligence in education, cyberbullying, digital fatigue, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning.

Dr. Adaramoye has authored and co-authored more than 40 scholarly publications, including articles in reputable international journals indexed in Scopus and IBSS. Her interdisciplinary collaborations span counselling psychology, public health, education, nutrition, behavioural sciences, and social development.

She is a recipient of some academic and professional recognitions, including the Overall Best Lecturer Award (2026) and 200-Level Best Lecturer Award (2026) from the Student Counselling Association of Nigeria (SCASSON), Federal University Oye-Ekiti Chapter. She is also a SPARKLE Fellow, a member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), the Association of Professional Counsellors in Nigeria (APROCON), the Positive Psychology Association of Nigeria (POPAN), and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

Beyond research and teaching, Dr. Adaramoye actively mentors students, supervises student projects, delivers community mental health education, and participates in advocacy initiatives that promote psychological well-being, women's empowerment, youth development, and educational excellence. Her long-term research vision is to generate culturally relevant evidence that informs policy, strengthens counselling practice, advances mental health promotion, and improves the wellbeing of individuals and communities across Africa.

Research Interests

Dr. Toyin Olanike Adaramoye's research focuses on counseling psychology, mental health and psychosocial wellbeing, positive psychology, adolescents and youth development, family and relationship studies, educational psychology, behavioral health, and digital well-being. Her work explores how psychological, social, familial, and environmental factors shape mental health, resilience, academic success, help-seeking behaviour, and quality of life among adolescents, young adults, women, families, and other vulnerable populations. She is particularly interested in developing evidence-based counselling interventions that promote psychological wellbeing, healthy relationships, educational success, and sustainable community development in Africa. More recently, her research has expanded to include digital mental health, artificial intelligence, social media use, cyberbullying, digital fatigue, and technology-enabled psychological support.
