Biography
Dr. David Ayo Babalola is a lecturer in the Department of History and International Relations at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. He holds a PhD in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He also earned a Master of Science in Political Science and a Master of International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He researches African security, governance and air power interventions. His publications and conference engagements focus on Africa in international relations, maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, diaspora studies and the intersection of development policy and the Sustainable Development Goals. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in refereed university-based journals, including those indexed in Scopus. Before joining academia, he spent twelve years in the private sector, an experience that informs his policy-oriented research and interdisciplinary teaching approach.
