Biography

Akindele James Akintola is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management with research interests in welfare economics and development economics. His research focuses on understanding the socioeconomic factors affecting rural households and developing evidence-based policy recommendations that improve farmers' welfare and promote inclusive agricultural growth.

He holds academic qualifications in Agricultural Economics and has experience in teaching, research, student supervision, and community engagement. He teaches courses in agricultural economics, farm management, production economics, research methods, and quantitative analysis, with a strong commitment to developing students' analytical and problem-solving skills.

His long-term vision is to contribute to the advancement of agricultural economics through impactful research, excellent teaching, and policy engagement that improves the welfare of farming households and supports sustainable national development.

Research Interests

poverty dynamics, livelihood diversification, agricultural technology adoption, climate resilience, and the impacts of public policies on rural households in Nigeria
