Biography

Dr. Ukam Ivi Ngwu is an International Scholar, Communicologist, Legal Practitioner, Editor, Public Affairs Analyst and Media Consultant from Biase LGA, Cross River State, Nigeria. He is a is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Relations, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Federal University Oye-Ekiti. He was the pioneer Head, Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Calabar. He holds a BSc, MSc, PhD degrees in the field of Mass Communication and other qualifications in Law and Education. He has taught several courses in Communication, Law and Education at several universities and Research Institute in Nigeria. He is widely published in both local and international refereed journals and belongs to several notable professional bodies like: Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), International Association of Contemporary Researchers (IACR), Association of Media and Communication Scholars (AMCRON), Society for Health Communication, etc. His research areas include: Development Journalism, Public Relations, Health Communication, peace advocacy and spiritual communication.
