Biography

Jatto, Ayoyinka Nurudeen is a Nigerian academic and agricultural economist currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric) from the University of Ilorin. He is also a Graduate Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

His research interests span agricultural finance, rural development, food security, agricultural insurance, efficiency analysis, and value chain development in Nigeria. He has extensive field and consultancy experience in agricultural development programs, including roles with IFAD, IFPRI, NIRSAL, and state-level agricultural transformation initiatives.

His methodological expertise includes advanced econometrics and applied quantitative techniques such as Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), Endogenous Switching Regression (ESR), Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), binary logit models, and other advanced econometric approaches used in impact evaluation and agricultural policy analysis.

Dr. Jatto has participated in several capacity-building and agribusiness training programmes across Nigeria, where he has served as a facilitator and trainer in value chain development, agribusiness improvement, and agricultural competitiveness initiatives.

He has published widely in reputable national and international journals, with research focusing on agricultural efficiency, credit access, loan repayment behavior, agricultural insurance adoption, gender participation in agriculture, and food security outcomes among smallholder farmers.

He is married and of Nigerian nationality.
