Mr. ZACCHEAUS OLAJIDE ARIJE

Assistant Lecturer

Department of Geology, Faculty of Physical Science

Area of Specialization: Nanomaterials, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, and Applied Geology.

Biography

Mr. Arije Olajide Zaccheaus is a Nigerian researcher, educator, and geoscientist with a strong interest in leadership, geosciences, and nanomaterials research. He holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Applied Geology, from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria where he completed his undergraduate studies in 2013.
Mr. Arije is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with research titled "Extraction and Characterization of Nanomaterials from Genetically Different Soils in Southwestern Nigeria and Their Potential Applications." His doctoral research focuses on the extraction, characterization, and evaluation of naturally occurring nanomaterials from genetically distinct soils and explores their potential applications in environmental remediation, industrial processes, and sustainable materials development.
His research interests encompass nanomaterials, hydrogeology, engineering geology, geotechnics, environmental geology, applied geochemistry, soil mineralogy, and leadership studies. His master's research investigated the effects of pre-test drying conditions on the index and basic geotechnical properties of three residual lateritic soils from Ado-Ekiti, Southwestern Nigeria, contributing to a better understanding of the engineering behaviour of tropical residual soils.
Mr. Arije has successfully supervised undergraduate research projects and has authored and co-authored scholarly publications in the fields of geosciences, environmental studies, and materials science. He is committed to advancing scientific knowledge through evidence-based research, quality teaching, innovation, and professional service.
He is a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), having joined the Society in 2025, and continues to contribute to academic and professional development through research, mentorship, and lifelong learning
