Biography

Dr. Chinedu Hilary Joseph is a Nigerian counselling psychologist, researcher, and university lecturer in the Department of Guidance and Counselling at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti. Dr. Joseph's scholarly interests span counselling psychology, educational psychology, mental health, teacher education, digital learning, and the application of emerging technologies in education. His research has examined diverse issues including psychological wellbeing, academic engagement, suicide prevention, artificial intelligence in education, teaching practicum, self-care practices, online learning, career development, and the psychosocial experiences of learners and educators. Through these interdisciplinary contributions, he seeks to generate knowledge that informs policy, strengthens educational practice, and improves the quality of counselling services in Nigeria and beyond.
As a Corresponding and First Author, Dr. Joseph has authored and co-authored numerous publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and regularly collaborates with researchers across disciplines. He also supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research, mentoring emerging scholars in rigorous research methodology and ethical academic practice.
Beyond academia, Dr. Joseph is passionate about youth development, talent discovery, and community engagement, which led him to pioneer career-skills-talent development outreach that sensitizes young people about skill acquisition and career development. Recognized for his dedication to scholarship, professional service, and research excellence, he continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of counselling psychology and educational research within Nigeria and the international academic community.
