Biography

Abdulrahaman Ridwan Owolabi is a Nigerian librarian, information professional, and emerging researcher in the field of Library and Information. He began his educational journey at AT-Tawheed Model School, Ado-Ekiti, and A.U.D. Primary School, Ado-Ekiti, before proceeding to Muslim College, Ado-Ekiti, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate. He later earned a Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) from Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Nigeria, in 2021.
Abdulrahaman currently serves as a Graduate Librarian (Cataloguing Librarian) at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Library. In this role, he is responsible for cataloguing and classifying library resources, creating and maintaining bibliographic records, assigning subject headings and call numbers, and ensuring efficient access to information resources through the Koha Integrated Library System. His work contributes significantly to the organization and accessibility of scholarly information for teaching, learning, and research.
Prior to joining FUOYE, he worked as a Librarian II (Readers' Services Librarian) at the Ekiti State Library Board, where he provided reference and readers' advisory services, supervised SIWES and Industrial Training students, managed user registration processes, and maintained library statistics and records. He also gained practical experience during his Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) at Ekiti State University Library.
He is committed to continuous learning and professional growth as he advances his career in Library and Information Science. Through ongoing training, self-development, and his interest in front-end web development, he continues to broaden his knowledge and enhance his professional skills. He remains dedicated to contributing to the advancement of the library profession through research, innovation, and effective service delivery, while embracing emerging technologies that support information access and knowledge management.
