Biography
Damilola Olawumi Owoeye lectures in the Department of English and Literary Studies at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. She teaches undergraduate courses in English Grammar, Discourse Analysis, Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, English for Specific Purposes, and Communication Skills. She is committed to fostering critical thinking, effective language use, and research competence among students.
Her research focuses on English grammar, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and applied linguistics, with particular interests in terrorism discourse, political discourse, medical discourse, classroom discourse, and film discourse. Her scholarly works have been published in reputable national and international journals, and she presents papers at academic conferences.
Beyond teaching and research, she has supervised undergraduate research projects and contributes to the academic community through professional engagement. She is a member of the English Scholars Association of Nigeria (ESAN) and is also a doctoral student.
