Biography

Tijjani Shehu Suleiman is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), combining academic training with hands-on industry experience in power systems and electrical engineering design.

He holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from FUOYE (2025) and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2018). He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

Before his academic appointment, he served as an Academic Technologist at FUOYE, delivering laboratory instruction in MATLAB, HOMER, and Proteus. He also works as an Electrical Engineer at the university, handling electrical services design, BOQ preparation, and site supervision. His industry background spans roles at BUA Sugar Refinery, Manifest Engineering Consult, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), and the Transmission Company of Nigeria, covering maintenance, control and instrumentation, and high-voltage transmission systems.

His research interests include electric vehicles, smart grids, power cyber-physical systems, renewable energy integration, and artificial intelligence applications in power systems. He has published on fault detection in HVDC monopolar systems in the Asian Journal of Computing and Engineering Technology (2023).

He has completed professional training in data analytics, software engineering, and cybersecurity, and has contributed to public service as an INEC presiding officer and community education volunteer.
