Biography

I am Dr. Kolawole Kazeem Oyeyemi, an accomplished legal scholar and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Law at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE). My academic career and research focus extensively on International Human Rights Law, Public Law, and Children's Rights. Driven by professional integrity, compassion, and a commitment to academic excellence, I dedicate my career to teaching, global research, and institutional leadership.

I hold a Doctor of Laws (LL.D) degree from North-West University, South Africa. My doctoral research critically analyzed child participatory rights under Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and its implementation in selected countries. Through my scholarly work, I examine the socio-cultural challenges of implementing legal protections for the vulnerable within Nigeria, South Africa and Australia. One of my publications focus on the domestication of federal legislation and address the gaps in the practical realization of the Nigerian Child Rights Act of 2003. My recent studies on disability rights, and comparative studies on child rights implementation are published in authoritative platforms, including the African Disability Rights Yearbook and African Human Rights Law Journal.

As an educator, I am passionate about providing high-level legal analysis, instruction, and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate law students. Beyond the classroom, I serve as an editor for prominent publications, including the International Journal of Law and Business Transactions. At FUOYE, I channel my foundational expertise in public law and advocacy to advance the faculty’s core mandate of community service, robust legal research, and legal ethics. Through my research and teaching, I strive to advocate for democracy, human rights, and systemic educational advancement, establishing myself as a vital asset to the university community.
