Biography

I am Sulyman Muhammed Hassan Kosemani, Esq., a legal practitioner, public servant, academic, and Notary Public with over two decades of experience in legal practice, public prosecution, legal education, and research.

I began my educational journey at Azzumuratul Adabiyatul Kamaliyah School for Arabic and Islamic Studies before obtaining a Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the College of Education, Ilorin (1991–1993). I subsequently earned a Diploma in Common and Islamic Law from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin (1996–1998), and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Combined Honours) from the University of Ilorin (2001–2004). I attended the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006. In 2012, I obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law at the University of Ilorin. My research focuses on Entertainment Law, particularly the legal and regulatory framework governing the censorship of films and video content released on social media platforms.

Following my call to the Bar, I practised in private chambers with Tunde Olumu & Court before joining the Kwara State Ministry of Justice, where I rose to the position of Chief State Counsel and prosecuted several high-profile civil cases on behalf of the State. Since 2008, I have served as a part-time Lecturer at the NNDC/ICAN Ilorin Study Centre, mentoring students preparing for law-related professional accountancy qualifications. I am also a Notary Public, duly authorised to perform notarial functions in accordance with Nigerian law. My career has been guided by a steadfast commitment to justice, integrity, professionalism, scholarship, and public service.
