Biography

Abiola Maryam, ADEYI is an assistant lecturer in the Department of English and Literary Studies at Federal University Oye Ekiti, Nigeria. She holds an M.A. in English Language Studies (2023) from Federal University Oye Ekiti, and a B.A. in English Language Studies Education (2014) from Tai Solarin University of Education, where she graduated as the best graduating student in the department. She is currently pursuing doctoral research with a focus on pragma-stylistic analysis of political congratulatory messages in selected Nigerian newspapers. Her research interests span stylistics, semantics, discourse analysis, and pragmatics, particularly linguistic evaluation in public discourse.
She has spent the last decade teaching in secondary and tertiary education, as a Vice Principal, Oral English Teacher and ESL Teacher/Assistant Head of School. She is a certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), a 2022 YTA Mentorship Awardee and professionally trained in leadership, project management and ethical communication.
