Biography
Dr. Olaniyan Niyi Oladipo is an academic and researcher in the Department of Accounting with teaching, research, and professional interests in Social and Environmental Accounting. His research focuses on sustainability reporting, corporate governance, public sector accounting, financial reporting, taxation, auditing, forensic accounting, and the application of artificial intelligence in accounting and tax administration. He has published scholarly articles in reputable national and international journals and has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research. Dr. Olaniyan is committed to advancing accounting knowledge through high-quality research, teaching, and community service, with a particular interest in promoting accountability, transparency, and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
Research Interests
Research Interests: Social and Environmental Accounting, with emphasis on sustainability reporting, environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosure, climate-related financial reporting, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development. Public sector financial management, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with particular focus on disclosure quality, accountability, transparency, and economic growth in Nigeria and Africa. Corporate governance, sustainability disclosure, and firm performance across the banking, manufacturing, and oil and gas sectors. Taxation, public auditing, and fraud detection, including tax compliance, tax avoidance, tax administration, forensic accounting, and public sector accountability. Artificial intelligence and digital technologies in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, sustainability reporting, and tax administration in emerging and advanced economies.
