Biography
I, Lukman Opeyemi Ayoola is an Adjunct Lecturer II in Urban and Regional Planning Department, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State with teaching, research, and professional experience in urban and transportation planning. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and currently pursuing a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning, specialising in Transportation Planning. My doctoral research focuses on urban travel behaviour and mobility patterns in rapidly urbanising cities in Osun State, Nigeria.
I have served in academic and administrative capacities, including as Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in a private university. I am committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service, with a strong interest in mentoring students and promoting innovative approaches to planning education.
My research seeks to generate evidence-based solutions that support sustainable transport systems, improve accessibility, and enhance the quality of urban life in developing countries.
I have published articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and contributed to scholarly books. I am actively engaged in multidisciplinary research and professional collaborations aimed at addressing contemporary urban and regional planning challenges. As a professional planner, I also have practical experience in physical planning, development control, environmental impact assessment, and project planning.
I am dedicated to advancing knowledge through impactful research, quality teaching, and professional practice, while contributing to the development of sustainable, resilient, and inclusive human settlements.
