Biography

Prof. Segun Bamidele FAKAYODE is a Professor of Agricultural Economics.  He joined the University system in 1999 at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and thereafter joined Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria in 2013. He has published several research papers in the local, national and international journals and conference proceedings, and attended many trainings, workshops and symposia locally and internationally. He has also been involved in some AGRODEP, JPAL and CEGA-funded projects in Africa. Prof Fakayode has also served as support consultant under various International researches including those of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), West African Agriculture Productivity Programme (WAAPP), Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), National Fadama Development Project, Survey of production sites/Development Intervention Sites under the vision 20-20-20 of the Federal Government of Nigeria in the year, 2009 among others.  He is also an Awardee of J-PAL initiative grants, North-west South Africa Phd hub promoter, Mentor under the Gender Equality and Labor Markets in Low-Income Countries, G²LM|LIC and Reviewer under 50x2030 Data Use Initiative and the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) category of the Global Development Awards Competition (GDN)

Prof. Fakayode is the former Director-Institute for Food Security and Commercial Agriculture (IFSCA) at FUOYE.and the current Dean-Faculty of Agriculture, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria.
