Biography
Dr. Mustapha Olalekan Rufai is a communication scholar and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. His teaching and research focus on strategic and applied communication. His research addresses contemporary communication challenges in Nigeria, including crime reporting, misinformation, online journalism, audience studies, peace communication, health communication, and the impact of digital technologies on media practice. He has also contributed to scholarship on indigenous African communication, media ethics, and social transformation through communication
Dr. Rufai has authored and co-authored scholarly articles and book chapters published in national and international journals, with research spanning newspaper readership, political discourse, digital media, journalism practice, public communication, and cultural narratives. His collaborative work reflects an interdisciplinary approach that connects communication research with governance, security, public health, and national development.
His scholarly output demonstrates a commitment to advancing evidence-based communication research while contributing to the development of communication scholarship and professional practice in Nigeria and beyond.
