Biography
Dr. Stephen Afam Kenechukwu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Madonna University Nigeria and a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers’ Institute, affiliated with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Dr. Kenechukwu holds doctoral qualifications in Mass Communication, with a specialization in Health Communication, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and in Print Journalism from the University of Uyo. His principal research interests include health communication, print and photojournalism, and media studies.
With more than 17 years of teaching and research experience across private and public universities, Dr. Kenechukwu has contributed significantly to communication curriculum development, academic research, and student mentorship. His scholarly output includes more than 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and several book chapters.
He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN), and African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), Nigeria Chapter.
Dr. Kenechukwu combines academic scholarship with practical expertise in journalism, media production, and consultancy. This blend of academic excellence and professional experience positions him as a well-rounded communication scholar, educator, and media practitioner.
