Biography
Dr. Samuel Toyin Famuwagun hails from Ese-Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. For his early education, he attended St. John's Anglican Primary School, Ese-Akoko. He proceeded to Ajuwa Grammar School, Okeagbe-Akoko for his Junior Secondary School education and later to Ilemopo Comprehensive Secondary School, Irun-Akoko for his Senior Secondary School education. Dr. Famuwagun obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education in Computer Science/Chemistry from the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti. He earned a B.Sc. (Ed) in Chemistry from the University of Ado-Ekiti, and subsequently obtained both his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Science Education with a specialization in Chemistry from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. Dr. S.T. Famuwagun is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, Federal University Oye-Ekiti. He also serves as the Acting Head of the Department of Science Education. His areas of research interest include: Computer-mediated teaching in Science, with particular focus on Chemistry; virtual laboratory applications in Chemistry teaching; Curriculum development and implementation in Chemistry; Gender issues in Chemistry education; Students’ attitudes toward Chemistry; and the influence of school location and school type on Chemistry learning, among others. He has published extensively in reputable learned journals within and outside Nigeria. He has also contributed chapters to books and co-authored several books, including:Current Issues in Curriculum, The Methodology of Science Teaching Foundations of Effective Teaching, A Complete Guide to Curriculum and Effective Teaching Strategies in the 21st Century to date. He has over 25 scholarly publications to his credit. He is a member of several academic and professional associations. Dr. Famuwagun is happily married and blessed with children.
