Biography
Dr. Adebimpe Omolayo Esan is an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. She obtained her Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Engineering in 2008, Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in 2014, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering in 2021, all from the .
Her research focuses on cutting-edge areas of computing, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Her scholarly work is driven by the application of intelligent computing techniques to solve real-world problems and advance research in engineering and technology.
Dr. Esan has held several academic leadership and administrative positions at the . She served as Deputy Director of Entrepreneurship during the 2022/2023 academic session before being appointed Director of the Directorate of Educational Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a position she held during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions. In recognition of her leadership and commitment to academic excellence, she was appointed Head of the Department of Systems Engineering for the 2025/2026 academic session. She currently serves as an academic staff member in the Department of Computer Engineering at FUOYE.
Throughout her career, Dr. Esan has demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic leadership. She has contributed significantly to the development of technology-driven education, entrepreneurship initiatives, and capacity-building programmes while mentoring students and young researchers. Her passion for interdisciplinary research and emerging technologies continues to inspire innovative solutions that address societal and industrial challenges.
