Biography
Dr. Bolaji Abigail Omodunbi is an accomplished academic, researcher, and registered Computer Engineer with extensive experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and professional practice. She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria.
She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso; an M.Sc. in Communication Engineering from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom; and a B.Tech. in Computer Engineering. She is a COREN-registered engineer and holds professional certifications including Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Her research interests span artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, cybersecurity, wireless sensor networks, computer networks, Internet of Things, intelligent systems, and digital health technologies. She has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly publications in reputable national and international journals, including Scopus-indexed outlets, with research applications in healthcare, security, intelligent surveillance, assistive technologies, communication systems, and energy optimization.
Dr. Omodunbi has supervised and co-supervised several Master’s and doctoral research projects across diverse areas of computer and communication engineering. Her commitment to teaching, research, and innovation earned her the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Best Innovative Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering at Federal University Oye-Ekiti in 2023.
Beyond teaching and research, she has held several academic and administrative responsibilities, including examination coordination, postgraduate supervision, journal editorial leadership, curriculum development, and external examination. She currently serves as an External Examiner to Covenant University.
Dr. Omodunbi is passionate about advancing engineering education, promoting innovative research, mentoring emerging scholars, and applying artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to address societal and developmental challenges in Nigeria and beyond.

Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and Wireless Communication Systems.
