Biography
Oluwanifemi Helen Ayeni is a lecturer in the Department of Microbiology at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria, and a researcher with interests in food and industrial microbiology, food safety, biopreservation, and food security. She is a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow, recognized for her leadership potential and commitment to advancing education, gender equality, and community development in Africa. Beyond her teaching and research, she is passionate about developing the next generation of scientists and leaders. Through mentorship, leadership development, and career guidance, she equips students with the knowledge, confidence, and global perspective needed to excel in STEM and contribute meaningfully to society. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in service, collaboration, innovation, and empowering young people to become agents of positive change.
