Biography
Kolapo Solomon Olawale is a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State and earned his M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology with Distinction from the University of Lagos.
He is an active researcher and public health advocate and his work primarily addresses the growing threat of bacterial and fungal pathogens. His core research interests include invasive fungal infections, antimicrobial and antifungal resistance, infection prevention and control (IPC), and the tracking of pathogenic fungi across community and hospital water distribution systems.
He has authored and co-authored publications in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals. To stay at the forefront of his field, he maintains active memberships in several leading professional organizations, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), the Medical Mycology Society of Nigeria (MMSN), and the Pan African Mycology Working Group (PAMWG).

Invasive aspergillosis, Candida-associated bloodstream infections, Infection Prevention & Control, Wastewater-based epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance, antifungal resistance
