Mr. Oreoluwa Ayorinde Komolafe
Lecturer II
Department of Geology, Faculty of Physical Science
Area of Specialization: My area of specialization is hydrogeology, with particular emphasis on groundwater exploration, aquifer characterization, groundwater quality assessment, and environmental health risk evaluation
Biography
Oreoluwa Ayorinde Komolafe is a lecturer in the Department of Geology, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Technology degree in hydrogeology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in hydrogeology at the University of Ilorin.
His area of specialization is hydrogeology, with particular emphasis on groundwater exploration, aquifer characterization, groundwater quality assessment, and environmental health risk evaluation. His research interests include environmental and medical geology, geophysical investigation of groundwater resources, aquifer vulnerability assessment, trace-metal contamination, water quality modeling, and the effects of geological and industrial activities on human and environmental health.
Before joining the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, he had worked as a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, and as a field mining geologist with Omega Rocks and Minerals Limited. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals covering groundwater potential assessment, geoelectrical investigation, water quality, geotechnical studies, and environmental contamination. He has also served as an academic-level adviser and departmental project coordinator. He has supervised over 25 undergraduate students' projects. He is a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society and the Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists
Research Interests
His research interests include groundwater exploration and resource assessment, aquifer characterization, groundwater quality modeling, geophysical investigations, environmental pollution, medical geology, trace-metal contamination, human health risk assessment, and the application of GIS and remote sensing in hydrogeological studies.
