Biography

Dr. Mrs. Modupe D. Ajiboye is a Lecturer I in the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, Faculty of Life Sciences, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria. She obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Botany from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, and subsequently earned both a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mycology and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mycology and Fungal Biotechnology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Dr. Ajiboye teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervises research projects at both levels. She has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, where she has presented scholarly papers. In recognition of her academic contributions, she was awarded a fellowship to Kenyatta University, Kenya, in 2022 and participated in a professional workshop at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, in 2023.
Her research interests encompass plant pathology, mycology, fungal biotechnology, molecular characterization of plant-associated microorganisms, biological control of plant diseases, mycotoxin management, and sustainable crop protection. She is particularly interested in the development of eco-friendly microbial technologies for the management of fungal pathogens of economically important crops, the application of beneficial microorganisms in sustainable agriculture, host–pathogen interactions, and the use of molecular and biotechnological tools to enhance plant health, food safety, and agricultural productivity.
Dr. Ajiboye is a member of several professional organizations, including the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), the Mycological Society of Nigeria (MYSON), the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), and the Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN).
