Biography
I hold a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, with strong background in quantitative techniques and applied economics. My research focuses on enterprise and value chain analysis; climate change: adaptation strategies, impact assessment, household livelihood activity outcomes, leadership, human resource management, small farm development, agricultural entrepreneurship, and agricultural statistics. I have consulted for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Economic Research Service, and the United States Department of Agricultural Services (USDA). Washington, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Federal Government of Nigeria, as well as several state governments in Nigeria. I am a member of the following association. Global Club of Agricultural Economists. African Growth and Development Policy (AGRODEP), a modeling consortium facilitated by the Institute of Food Policy Research International (IFPRI) in Washington, USA. International Association of Agricultural Economist (IAAE, 10429) International Association of Statistical Education (IASE, 14986). European Association of Agricultural Economist (EAAE). Agricultural Economics Society (AES) U.K. National Association of Agricultural Economist (NAAE). Network of Children and Youth in Agriculture. Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN). Nigerian Environmental Study/Action Team (NEST). LISA 2020 (Statistical Capacity Building), University of Colorado Boulder, USA. I have successfully supervised 6 PhDs, 12 Master’s degree students and 38 undergraduates. He has to his credit 115 academic publications. He has been external assessor/examiner to many Universities in Nigeria and abroad. Professionally, Prof. Apata has been involved in training and workshops on statistical literacy for agriculturist, students, and staff translating evidence to action. I am married to Prof. Olasimbo Apata with 3 lovely children
